Updated: Tuesday 15th June 2021.
In line with current legislation, all street Markets and Indoor Markets are open and trading. We ask shoppers over the age of 11 and traders to wear a face covering on indoor markets, unless exempt. We encourage traders and shoppers over the age of 11 to wear a face covering on our outdoor markets, unless exempt.
Before trading, please ensure you have completed a COVID secure risk assessment for your business, that you keep on your stall at all times.
LSD Promotions or the Local Authority may ask to inspect your R/A.
You can download a risk assessment template below.
How are you making the markets Covid-19 secure?
Asking Members of the public to exercise social distancing throughout the marketplace via clear signage.
Each trader will be provided with a clear social distance sign for their own stall to be displayed at all times. Traders will be responsible for ensuring social distancing is being exercised at their own stall.
A market manager is on site all day, where in addition to their normal day to day duties, they will be monitoring footfall levels across the market. However, as the current guidance permits socialisation of up to 30 people outdoors, and up to 4,000 people at organised events outdoors, we do not anticipate any issues with footfall control on our markets at this time.
As a result of COVID-19, we have fully briefed all of our operational management team on the importance of social distancing and the market manager will naturally be vigilant in ensuring, to the best of their ability, social distancing guidelines are maintained. To further support this, we will ensure the market has appropriate signage, which reiterates the importance of social distancing. In addition, hand sanitisation stations will be available across the market.
LSD remains abreast with social distancing developments based on government advice and will make the necessary amendments to social distancing measures if instructed by Government guidance/legislation.
How do I make my business Covid-19 secure?
We cannot instruct you on how to make your business COVID secure, this is at your own personal discretion and you must identify your own risks within your business.
We as the market operator, will not be making screens mandatory or the quarantining of stock, but we support your right to do this if you feel it is necessary for your own business.
We have provided you with a risk assessment template which you can download from the website here. Please be aware that COVID-19 Risk assessments are mandatory on all markets operated by LSD Promotions until Monday 19th July. LSD Promotions also reserve the right to continue to ask for mandatory COVID-19 R/A after this date.
You MUST keep your R/A on your stall at all times, for random inspection from LSD Promotions or EHO. The only risk to manage on this particular assessment is to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
What happens if a market or event I have paid for in advance is cancelled as a direct result of COVID-19?
If a Market or event is cancelled as a direct result of the outbreak of COVID-19, you are able to roll the pitch fees paid as credit against any LSD event we operate in the future or request a refund.
Please note that our Christmas Victorian Events have their own cancellation clause.
Moving forward in a positive manner.
We are working hard alongside our local authority partners, to combat the situation we all find ourselves in, and as we make sound, safe and sensible decisions.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and custom during a difficult and unprecedented period.
